‘Maudie’ to show at DIFF 365@VOX

Maudie, starring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke, is the latest movie to screen as part of independent cinema initiative DIFF 365@VOX in Dubai. The film will show at Vox Cinemas, Mall of the Emirates, inside the dedicated theatre nine from June 15-28.

The film delves into the mind of Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis (Hawkins). The titular character, who suffers from severe arthritis, takes up a job as a housekeeper for reclusive fish peddler Everett Lewis (Hawkins). An unlikely romance blossoms, with the fields of Nova Scotia providing a green backdrop.

The film is directed by Aisling Walsh.
