Iftar recipe: Apple bread pudding

Here’s a dessert I absolutely adore. It’s simple, easy to make and my go-to recipe in any last minute situation. It’s a take on the traditional bread pudding with a lovely fruity twist to it.

Apple Bread Pudding

Ingredients

3 eggs

1 can condensed milk

3 apples peeled, cored and chopped small

1 3/4 cups hot water

1/4 cup butter

1 tsp powdered cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 samoon/hot dog buns (cut into small cubes)

1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

1. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degree F.

2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add condensed milk, apples, butter, cinnamon and vanilla. Gently mix in the chopped samoon and hot water.

3. Spread this mixture evenly on a buttered baking dish and top it with raisins. Bake for 40-45 minutes until it’s golden brown on the top.

4. It’s best served warm. You can also serve it with vanilla ice cream or double cream. In case you don’t like raisins, another great topping option is chocolate chips.
