New eatery which is a favourite of Los Angeles celebrities
Abu Dhabi: A slice of Hollywood-style dining has arrived in the capital and it’s ready to sweep foodies off their feet.
BOA Steakhouse, Los Angeles’ favourite eatery that opened shop last week in Abu Dhabi’s new retail and lifestyle hub – the Eastern Mangroves Promenade – not only combines a colourful environment with all modern-day steakhouse fare but also packs a punch.
“We may be famed for our steaks and chops but our waiters here, trained specifically for this region, will give you an experience you wouldn’t forget in a hurry. In fact, they will be one more reason you’ll want to come back again,” says Lee Maen, founding partner of Innovative Dining Group, owner of BOA Steakhouse while assuring every customer ‘a whole new kind’ of dining experience.
Great views
Vibrant, lively and sophisticated, BOA steakhouse is set across 600 square metres and boasts a bright and breezy terrace that offers great views of the city’s beautiful skyline and mangroves. Food-wise, however, the chain’s first venture outside the US lives up to its true American multicultural billing.
“Our goat cheese baklava which is made of pistachios, black truffles, frisée and honey is a fresh vegetarian appetiser and so symbolic of this region,” says BOA co-owner Philip Cummins.
Other star appetisers include a Jumbo Lump Crab Cake (Dh75) and a Pepper Crusted Beef Carpaccio (Dh75), in addition to tempting poultry dishes such as the Corn Fed Chicken (Dh125). Some superb seafood options include a Whole Maine Lobster (Dh605), Ahi Tuna (Dh145) and Jumbo Sea Scallops (Dh165), complimented by an extensive cocktail and drinks menu.
Premium cuts
However BOA’s real reputation lies in its impressive line of steaks and chops, including a selection of prime USDA-dry aged Angus beef such as the 40 Day Dry Aged New York Strip (Dh275) and the Bone In-Rib Eye (Dh425), as well as Premium Australian Blackmore Wagyu (Dh395) and Master Kobe beef (Dh425), all served with a choice of rubs and housemade sauces, including BOA’s signature J-1 sauce.
“We have tried to keep every thing the same as in the US because a lot of people from this part go and holiday there. So the items on the menu in Abu Dhabi are 99 per cent unchanged except for a few items to suit the taste and culture of the Middle East,” Cummins says.
A full complement of traditional steakhouse side dishes is also on offer as well and they include the Classic Caesar Salad (Dh55) made tableside from scratch and Lobster Twice Baked Potato (Dh65).
And in case you are wondering about desserts, the place serves a wide range – from BOA Snickers Bar (Dh45), a unique Fleur de sel (flower of salt) and caramel ice cream to a homemade Mascarpone Cheesecake (Dh60) which is claimed to leave you completely ‘floured’.
