Dubai Destinations: Top 9 cycling and jogging tracks for a scenic outing in Dubai

In the cooler months, Dubai offers some of the best outdoor venues for your daily jog or ride. The exceptional infrastructure of these tracks and the incredible views make these venues even more attractive to residents and visitors. Aligned with the objective of transforming Dubai into one of the most cycle-friendly cities in the world, the last few years have seen the expansion of the emirate’s cycling track network with several new pathways added.

Al Qudra Track: One of the longest tracks in Dubai also offers a chance glimpse of local wildlife – including the Arabian oryx. The track is popular with all levels of cyclists, and is also a common sport to visit for groups and families. If you don’t own a bike, you can easily rent one once there. Public transport is not nearby so you would have to find a transportation option once done with your jog/ride.

Cycling in Hatta: In winter, Hatta is the go-to spot for hiking, biking, kayaking and other fun and adventurous activities. Summer time in Hatta is a cool escape from the city's hustle and bustle. A 90-minute drive from Dubai, the Hatta Dam features stunning turquoise waters surrounded by rugged mountains. It sits on the border with Oman and is perfect for a day trip over the weekend.

Dubai Water Canal Track: The Dubai Canal is a loved tourist spot which residents also frequent for a nightly stroll or ride. Watch the curtain of water move for boats passing through and don’t forget to share a picture to social media using the internet at the location.

Nad Al Sheba Park: This park is located close to the Meydan racecourse, this park is the perfect family spot with cycling options for both adults and children. Cycling courses are available for the younger riders. The park is also an escape from city life and gives the experience of being nestled in nature.

Mushrif track: Nestled between acres of greenery near Mirdif, the 15km track starts from Al-Mushrif Park and takes you to some of the best barbecue spots in the area. It connects to Warqaa from the South and Khawaneej from the North.

Al Khawaneej Track: This 19km track, which connects from Al-Mushrif Park, has plenty of cafes on either side, giving cyclists plenty of options to rest and stretch their legs. You can even take bikes on rent here. This track serves the Al-Khawaneej community, which also has a “Khawaneej Cycling Group”.

AL-Warqaa Track: This 3km track connects from Al-Mushrif Park through Mirdif. It’s among the less crowded tracks in the city, and is great if you want to cycle at leisure. It also offers some of the best sunset spots in the area because of its elevation.

Meydan Track: This 13km track is located in District One Community, connecting to the Nad-al-Sheba cycling track.

Jumeirah Beach Track: The new cycling track stretches 16km alongside Jumeirah Beach and links the existing Jumeirah Street cycling track (at Dubai Water Canal) with the existing cycling track along King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street (at Dubai Internet City).
