Hatta Dam: One of the UAE’s best hidden gems is a 90-minute drive from Dubai. The Hatta Dam features stunning turquoise waters surrounded by a rugged mountainscape. Once there, you can rent a kayak or a boat, or even book a tour along the shimmering waters. Experience nature at its finest as you wade by some spectacular species of birds as well as fishes that inhabit the area. After the dam why not visit the Hatta Heritage Village nearby? There are plenty of photo-perfect opportunities but also just as many things to do for the whole family. You can see mountains stretch against a bright blue sky and for those inclined you can go hiking.

Hatta Honey Bee Garden: While in Hatta, get one with nature with a visit to the amazing busy world of honeybees. Called Hatta Honey, the bee rearing station, nestled in the middle of the Hatta mountains is a joint venture between the UAE government and two honey manufacturing companies - Hatta Honey and Al Najeh Honey.

Dubai Miracle Garden and Butterfly Garden: The Miracle Garden in Dubai is a mind-bogglingly beautiful destination that leaves almost everyone who visits in awe of how attractions can be made entirely of blooms in the middle of what is actually a desert. Just next door is the ‘Butterfly Garden’ where you can get acquainted with thousands of sub-species of these colourful insects.

Dubai Parks and Resorts: The largest theme park destination in the Middle East offers an incredible scale and variety of entertainment. Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, Legoland Dubai, and Legoland Water Park, all in one incredible location offers endless fun with over 100 thrilling rides, record-breaking swing rides and enthralling live shows. Riverland is the free park that you can access while there. The destinations also has hotels and many dining options for a well-rounded visit.

Aventura Parks: There are plenty of fun activities to do in the UAE to help us stay fit. A unique one is located inside Mushrif Park in Mirdif. The Aventura Nature Adventure Park is just what the name suggests — an adventure waiting to happen, and all that’s missing is YOU. Though I must insist you bring along some courage and dexterity, because you sure are going to need them.
