Winning film out of 15 will qualify for the 2019 Oscar consideration

The Dubai International Film Festival (Diff) has revealed the final eight films that will complete the 2017 Muhr Short line-up. The winner of the 15-strong competition segment will get a once-in-a lifetime opportunity, as it will qualify for 2019 Oscar consideration.
Films include Blue Fly Road from acclaimed Syrian filmmaker Bassam Chekhes; City Soul by Diff veteran and multidisciplinary artist Hicham Lasri; Into Reverse by first-time Egyptian filmmaker Noha Adel; The Crossing by Palestinian-Jordanian filmmaker Ameen Nayfeh; The President’s Visit by acclaimed Lebanese director and screenwriter Cyril Aris; Tshweesh by Lebanese filmmaker Feyrouz Serhal; Mediterranean by Lebanese filmmaker Talal Khoury; and When the Sky Began to Scream from Tunisian writer and director Kays Mejri.
Diff runs from December 6 to 13. Ticket packages are now on sale on diff.ae.
