In the Director’s Chair: A Conversation with Asif Kapadia will take place on December 8 at Dubai International Film Festival.
Kapadia, the Academy Award-winning director behind the Amy Winehouse documentary Amy, will be interviewed on stage by Variety film critic Jay Weissberg about his career. The public can attend at the cost of Dh50 per ticket.
The director, who is British of Indian descent, won a Grammy and Oscar award for Amy earlier this year. The film became the highest-grossing documentary of all time in the UK.
He has also won four Baftas: Best British Film in 2003 for The Warrior, Best Documentary and Best Editing for Senna in 2012, and Best Documentary for Amy this year.
He was last at Diff in 2010 as was one of the jury members for the Muhr Asia Africa Feature.
The 13th edition of Diff runs between December 7-14 at Madinat Jumeirah. Registration for professionals is now open. Film ticket packages (10 for Dh275, 25 for Dh550, and a red carpet package with seven gala tickets for Dh500) are available at diff.ae.
