The NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery’s latest exhibition is called ‘Inventing Downtown: Artist-Run Galleries in New York City, 1952–1965’, and is now open to the public. The exhibition brings to Abu Dhabi a major collection of historical artworks, and was organized by the Grey Art Gallery, New York University’s fine art museum in New York City.

Exhibition is all about the exploration of artistic community through the lens of New York of the 1950s and 60s, when the artists of "Downtown" Manhattan paved the way for New York City’s rise as a cultural capital.
