Splitsville for Pops and Jomari
Missing You. That was the title of Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera's reunion concert held last month, produced by the Concert Queen's beau Jomari Yllana.
Well, it looks like the Yllana will be saying the same exact words to Pops after both confirmed only recently that they have ended their three-year relationship. The news came as a surprise to many, since the now non-couple were very much on at the time of the concert.
Rumours have it that they have been bickering about money - that way too much was spent on the concert and so little was recovered. According to some, Fernandez demanded she be paid in full, while Yllana was asking for a "lovers' discount". However, people close to the ex-lovers say this is farthest from the truth, saying Jomari has enough resources to pay Pops' fees, given he will be producing another concert featuring the two "Davids" who contested American Idol's top prize last season - Cook and Archuleta.
Both have given official statements about the break-up pointing to irreconcilable differences as the only cause of the split.
Geneva confidential
Former MTV VJ KC Montero hasdispelled rumours that he and wife Geneva have split up. KC was visibly upset when our Manila Mole spotted him at the airport and asked about the status of his marriage. Geneva, who returned to the Philippines months back after migrating to the US with Montero, has been trying to revive a promising singing career in Manila, but has instead been dogged by rumours of the split up and the latest, a failed attempt at suicide.
Montero contested those reports, saying he and Geneva are very much together and there was no way she would leave their son behind. If they had split up, she would have fought heaven and hell to bring their only son with her. As for the suicide, he had no clue where that rumour came from, and said it was very unlikely Geneva would do something like that. Calls and e-mails to Geneva and her publicist have been unreturned.
Wonder child
Little boy Zaijian Jaranilla is likely to be the next big thing on TV. The wonder kid is currently making waves with his new soap, May Bukas Pa. This talented young actor is so endearing he is winning the hearts of a growing audience, enough to give his rival show a good fight in the ratings.
Now more popularly known as Santino (the name of the mystical boy he plays on the soap), Jaranilla is now being touted as the new Nino Muhlach, the former child wonder.
