After months of rumours, it appears the relationship between pop star Shakira and footballer Gerard Piqué has been confirmed, with a photo of the couple kissing on the cover of Colombian magazine Cara (pictured).

The singer — at 34, 10 years his senior — is seen leaning in for a kiss.

The singer first met Piqué last spring while shooting the video to her song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) — the official track of the 2010 World Cup, although she dismissed reports of a romance, saying at a press conference in Barcelona the claims were a "waka-rumour" and added: "You shouldn't take any notice of waka-rumours."

Pique was also quick to deny that they were lovers, telling reporters last month: "We're just friends. There's nothing more to it."

But in February, the pair were spotted holding hands as they left a restaurant in Barcelona, finally confirming rumours of a romance.

Shakira announced her split from De La Rua, son of former Argentine president Fernando de la Rua, on her official website in January.

Meanwhile, Indian media reports say Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is hoping to replicate Shakira's Waka Waka football success by getting her to do a promotional music video for his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). But King Khan says he is quite clueless about it.

"We have a team of people working around the marketing for KKR. But I really don't know if Shakira is going to dance for KKR. It is wonderful if she is going to... but I really don't know yet," Khan said.
