STEP 1

Get a baked-clay pot of any size and smoothen the outer surface with sandpaper.

Use a brush of medium size to smear it with white acrylic wall paint. (Add a little water to the paint because white paint is always a little thicker than paint of any other colour).

Leave it to dry.

STEP 2

Draw designs with a pencil all over the pot. Try to draw a wide design.

However, you can cover the entire surface of the pot with the design or draw a few shapes and let the rest of the space remain empty.

STEP 3

Buy a dark-coloured stretch cord about 2mm thick from a shop where you get stitching items.

Put some all-purpose glue on some of the lines of the design and stick the stretch cord on it.

Use small parts of the design at a time, because, otherwise, the glue will dry up.

STEP 4

Mix two spoons of white glue and two spoons of white acrylic paint in a plastic cup.

Add one teaspoon of water to the mixture and blend well. Pour the mixture into the cord frame, that is, in the space inside the design, and spread evenly with a small brush, without leaving any gap.

Make sure the mixture remains inside the cord frame and doesn't spill out.

STEP 5

Pour some transparent blue glass paint in another plastic cup.

Dip a small brush in it and let drops of the paint fall on to the spread-out glue inside the design. Don't put too may drops.

STEP 6

This step is the most enjoyable. Get a blunt pencil and start connecting the glass-paint dots.

Avoid touching the same spot more than once. After every part you paint, let it dry for at least two hours.

STEP 7

The same colour of glass paint should be applied to the other cord spaces.

Cover the entire pot this way, let dry for the required length of time and you have your very own ceramic pot ready.

The white mixture is matt and the glass paint shiny. Hence, they make a good combination. You can use the same procedure on a vase or a lampshade base.
