Aviation business administration diploma classes begin
Al Ain The inaugural batch of students for the Higher Diploma in Aviation Business Administration at the Al Ain-based Horizon International Flight Academy started classes last week. The academy is the first to offer the course in the region. It is open to pilots of all nationalities holding a licence, and to individuals in the airline industry who want to move from flying to management. For more information log onto www.horizonuae.ae
New library for Michigan State University Dubai
Dubai To encourage reading among its students the two-year old Michigan State University Dubai campus (MSUD) has built a new library. According to its librarian Michelle Hennessy, the new library currently stocks 1,300 books, but plans to expand the number up to 1,000 books annually.
560 ADMC students start internships
Abu Dhabi More than 560 Abu Dhabi Men's College (ADMC) students have begun their work experience programme in more than 40 private corporations and government organisations. Areas of specialisation include business administration, engineering, information management and applied media studies.
Canadian institutions visit local schools
Abu Dhabi Approximately 25 Canadian universities, colleges and technical institutes were part of the Middle East Education Initiative (MEEI) 2009 held in the UAE last week. The institutions visited local schools in Al Ain, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai and participated in education fairs on campuses in the Higher Colleges of Technology in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.
