In India the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), the Taj Group's Institute of Hotel Management in Aurangabad and Welcomgroup's Graduate Hotel Management School, Manipal, are the three most reputed institutes for hotel management.
The NCHMCT, headquartered in New Delhi, has 24 affiliated institutes.
Entrance exam
For a three-year degree course in hotel management, the NCHMCT conducts a joint entrance examination in association with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
- The test is held in May every year. This year, it will be on May 13.
- The application process is usually completed by early March.
- Those who have cleared their 10+2 from a recognised board, or are appearing for their 12th exams, with English as a compulsory subject, can apply.
- The test is a three-hour written test. There are 200 objective-type questions.
