Bobby Deol, who has been going through a luckless phase as an actor, is now optimistic that his latest Dosti (friendship) will fetch him a lot of luck.

"It appears as if after Raj Kapoor — whose movie Barsaat is a classic — it's my monopoly to act in movies with the title Barsaat," says Deol.

"Otherwise how do you explain this twist of fate where I suddenly replaced Akshay Kumar in the latest Barsaat owing to certain problems, after his name was formally announced?"

It is also interesting to note that his father Dharmendra also acted in a film called Dost with Shatrughan Sinha in the 1980s.

Meanwhile he rejects speculation that fans in Chennai and Andhra Pradesh are no longer in a mood to connect with romantic sentiments relating to the rainy season following the deadly downpour there.

"It's the kabhi khushi kabhi gham (sometimes happiness, sometimes sadness) syndrome."
"Just because there is a nasty avalanche of snow in the north does not mean tourists would totally stop visiting the snow-covered hill stations."

"I salute the people affected by the downpour who have this amazing calibre to endure any adverse situation and ensure that life goes on," says Deol.
