DP World holds a recruitment day for UAE national students
As a fresh or soon-to-graduate you may be feeling anxious about your future. It is a daunting task to find a job in this competitive world. However, Dubai Port (DP) World recently began with a new approach to help UAE national students.
DP World recently held its first Recruitment Open Day as part of the organisation's second Emiratisation drive in Knowledge Village, Dubai. The purpose was to interview Emirati candidates on the ground for managerial positions.
DP World believes in knowing your job before managing. Following this motto, the accepted candidates will join a department of their choice and work through each sub-division.
After gaining knowledge about each division, the candidate will be able to make a more informed decision on where he would like to be placed. Notes spoke with Natalie Bethanis, HR manager, DP World, about the subject.
Training programmes
The training and development programme duration ranges from 18 to 24 months. The programme includes an intensive coaching session.
Upon joining, the applicant will undergo formal training (educational), followed by on-the-job training.
