Dark And Dangerous

(Spoiler warning: The Harry Potter blog will be updated several times a day until the book is completed and will contain the major dramatic points in the plot.)

The inventive genius behind the Harry Potter series is what first drew me to the books - the Every Flavour Beans, the Enchanted ceiling at Hogwarts and the heart-shaped confetti.

Then things started to get slightly darker. Diaries began to write back (and possess people) and creatures like thestrals (who are visble only to people who have witnessed death) began to appear.

But I'm glad that Rowling's imagination is still as active as ever - treasure that burns and multiplies at your touch so that thieves get buried and burned by the weight of their own greed - brilliant!

I don't think I'm going to be able to put the book down again until after I finish it this time. The plot's getting too exciting.

Aberforth (Professor Dumbledore's brother)appears on the scene, the whole horrid truth about Ariana comes out and Harry is closer than ever to finding and destroying more Horcruxes.

But Voldemort has acquired possibly the most dangerous of the Deathly Hallows - the Elder wand. And he knows that Harry is on to the secret of his Horcruxes. And he is not happy!
