Charice Pempengco to perform in Dubai

Fresh from her performance for US President Barack Obama, the renowned Filipino singer Charice Pempengco is coming to Dubai for a concert on February 19.

Charice will also be sharing the stage with R&B princess Kyla and two of the Philippines' biggest rock bands: Rivermaya and Parokya ni Edgar. Filipino talent from the UAE will also be featured in the concert.

The petite performer rose to fame through YouTube, where US comedienne Ellen DeGeneres discovered her and invited her to perform on her show last year.

Charice was such a hit that she was also invited as a guest on the Oprah Winfrey show later. Winfrey was all praises for the Filipina.

"You are a force to be reckoned with. That voice comes from something bigger than yourself. You're pulling it up out of some place deeper than your little body," Winfrey told Charice during the show.
