You can now enrol in the international Certified Business Professional Programme in the UAE, writes UmmeSalma Mujtaba.

T he Certified Business Professional (CBP) Programme is an international industry credential that validates and develops the business skills of both entry-level and senior business professionals. Certified Business Professional, a global organisation, offers the course.

The US-based International Business Training Association (IBTA) develops the courses. IBTA, an international organisation with 164 partners in the US, Canada, Asia, Middle East, Australia, Latin America and the Caribbean, has appointed Track Global as the sole distributor of the business skills training programme in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The authorisation of Track Global as a distributor of CBP courses means that business professionals need not travel abroad to be trained. The programme is locally available through centres that have CBP ATP (authorised training provider) status. Fouad Mohsin of Track Global spoke to Notes about the programme.

CBP certification levels:

1. Professional: This is for professionals looking for foundation business skills that will enable them to support and lead today's organisations. Candidates must pass a CBP Professional exam to receive the CBP Professional designation.

2. Executive: This is for business professionals who want to acquire expertise in all five CBP foundation areas. Candidates must pass all five of the CBP exams to receive the CBP Executive designation.

3. Masters: This programme is for candidates who want to specialise in specific business skills such as sales and marketing, project management, business management and technology. Candidates must complete the CBP Professional exams and sit for one CBP elective certification.
