Black is beautiful

Today I will show you how to make a necklace and a bracelet with black semi-precious stones and golden-coloured chain links.

These two colours look attractive together but beads and pearls can also be used.

STEP 1

For the necklace, you need approximately 108 black beads, each about 8mm in diameter, and golden-coloured chain links of about 0.5cm diameter.

Get a fine thread about 1 metre long and string in three black beads.

STEP 2

Holding both ends of the thread together, slide in one chain link. Then separate the string and put in two beads through each.

Again bring the two ends of the thread together and slide in one chain link as done previously. Continue till you have used up all the beads except the last three.

STEP 3

String the three beads at the end, like you did at the beginning.

Cross the two ends of the thread, tie them, put super glue and cut off the extra thread. But make sure there is no gap between the beads.

STEP 4

Take a golden-coloured nail, pass it through the first bead and give both ends a round shape with the help of pliers.

Repeat the procedure with the beads at the other end.

STEP 5

Take a chain made of golden links and separate out five links.

Now fix each of these end-to-end to the round hooks at the end beads, so there is a chain of five links at each end of the bead-string.

STEP 6

Take another five chain links and attach them in a row to the chain link at the centre of the chain made in Step 5.

STEP 7

Now, take two big crystal beads as shown in the picture. Get a nail with a hook and pass this through the crystal bead as shown.

Give the other end of the nail a round shape with pliers.

STEP 8

Attach the two crystal beads to each end of the necklace as done with the chain links. You can use various kinds of beads or metal pieces to decorate the ends of the necklace.

I have chosen antique, golden-coloured coins, as you can see in the picture.

To wear, just tie a knot at the thin, chain part. You can also see the bracelet in the picture — you can make it the same way you did the necklace.
