The Class of 2006 at the The Association of Chartered Certified Accounts (ACCA), Dubai, graduated last week. A special ceremony was held at the Dubai Knowledge Village.
Fifty- five graduates received their ACCA qualification in Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) and professional scheme.
Stephen Shields, head of corporate development for ACCA in the Middle East, congratulated the graduates.
"A lot of hard work was required of you to be able to get your qualifications. I know a lot of you made sacrifices in your life and with your family time," he said.
Azza Raslan, FCCA member, honoured the 40 ACCA and 15 CAT graduates.
She said: "You are now qualified professionals. Every decision you make will hold a different weight. The ACCA qualification is not a piece of paper, but a life you are taking... . As you were trained once, it is now your job to train others. Don't forget those who need mentorship."
Four top students were honoured, two for each qualification category.
ACCA is an international accountancy body with 260,000 students and 110,000 members in 170 countries.
