Saba Vasim provides a guide to the best trends for Spring '08

Tackle this end of season trend by adding a few transitional pieces to your wardrobe and float effortlessly in to Spring '08. It's not warm enough that you want to wear something light and breezy but for now wear the key spring pieces with dark cashmere cardigans. It's all about transitional dressing to bridge the gap between seasons, says fashion insider Moibel Knight.

Barbara Atkin, Vice President of Fashion Direction at Holt Renfrew, says being able to adapt from winter to spring is important since temperatures can change so quickly, even during the course of one day.

Moibel adds during the New York Fashion Week. "It is difficult not to be distracted by spring '08 fashion that is so evidently alive and kicking on the front row style setters so layer as you like with scarves, cardigans or a causal denim jacket."

Read on to discover how to keep up with the transitional trendsetter looks and dress fabulously as always.

Colours
The runways were an explosion of neon and electric colours. Look out for bold bursts of red, blue, fuchsia and green there will never be a dull moment during spring. Opt for a single hue and layer short sleeves over a long sleeves to keep you warm. Tone it down with natural coloured accessories.

Tribal
Join the fashion tribe and show off your wild side in tribal prints, Ikat patterns and bold African inspired jewellery are so trendy now. Layer Ikat/ Tie and dye prints over darker tones or a single burst of colour tunic.

Victoriana
Slide into spring with Victorian inspired frills, lace and ruffles. Opt for soft and feminine details and dramatic take on the trend. Do not get overly romantic — limit ruffles to a blouse until the sun emerges.

Floral
Spring would not be spring without a budding crop of flora, clusters of roses, orchids are all blooming through the new collection of dresses, tops and skirts so mix and match floral with an accent of black patent accessories.

Ibiza
Go with the flyaway boho dresses over a turtleneck and opt for darker tone accents.
