The Al Shira’aa Horse Show

The renowned Al Shira’aa Horse Show is on until January 14th 2024 at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. In addition to the action-packed show jumping schedule which will see some of the world’s leading riders including William Funnel, Joe Stockdale and the UAE’s very own Olympic team compete for over €430,00 in prize money, the show promises to be a sensory spectacular for all the family.

Little visitors are catered to in the dedicated Kids Zone within the Al Shira’aa Village, which includes pony rides, face painting, a carousel, a sustainability area and skill games, The village also includes multiple food trucks and retail outlets, as well as the venue’s two restaurants for those seeking a sit-down meal. Regular admission is free for all.

Film in the desert

The third edition of the ‘Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert’ festival, organised by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), is on until January 21 at the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve. The festival aims to open new horizons for filmmakers, providing an innovative platform to showcase their works and diverse stories to audiences. Attendees will gain access to more than 70 films from Emirati, GCC, Arab, and international filmmakers, of which 56 are part of the Al Marmoom Short-Film Competition, where a distinguished panel of experts from the UAE and regional cinema sector will evaluate the films across three categories.

The festival will also feature musical and heritage performances highlighting the beauty of Emirati heritage and traditional crafts, such as Al Talli and Al Khoos.

Get ready for an exhilarating journey into the world of theatre as Short+Sweet 2024, the "biggest little play festival," returns for its 12th Edition in Dubai!
