This is the perfect time to explore all those hugely popular restaurants that get beautifully quiet during the summer. These are some of my favourite spots to go and enjoy a quiet and delicious meal, without having to wait for a table or get distracted by noise from other people around. (My soul is obviously a 100 years old.)
Aji
Peruvian food has recently become one of Dubai’s most popular food trends but Aji honestly takes the Nikkei-style dining to the next level. Their food is fresh and delicious. Some of the stand out dishes include the tuna tacos, the salmon tiraditos and the sushi. All of it. Literally. The decor is effortlessly cool and the beverages are refreshing. Summer is a perfect time to go and try some of their cold and raw dishes.

Timings: Saturday to Wednesday 7pm to 12am and Thursday and Friday 12pm to 2am
Ba
Ba Restaurant and Lounge (Ba means lucky number 8 in Mandarin) has relaunched their menu and it’s all about modern Asian cuisine. Their menu items are inspired from Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean dishes. Sushi, crispy duck kimchi steamed buns, tuna tacos with spicy mayo and fresh mango, honey baked cod with pickled ginger, selection of signature ramen noodles and Taiwanese braised beef noodle soup will feature on its more affordable menu. The restaurant has views of the Dubai Marina skyline.

Timings: Open from Monday to Saturday from 5pm until 2am, dinner is served from 7pm until 12am
Ting Irie
The Jamaican spot has introduced a new night called the Jerk n’ Stripes Sundays. Pairing together one of their most popular Jamaican dishes, which is the Spitfiyah jerk chicken, with an ice cold hops beverage, it’s a super authentic Jamaican way to beat the Sunday blues. Come through and chill.

Cost: Jerk n’ Stripes: Dh99 for a quarter Jerk Chicken and Hops, Jerk n’ Stripes XL: Dh139 for a half chicken and a hops.

Masti
I love summer menus! Especially this one by Masti. Available daily, the summer menu will offer a taste of new India with a selection of dishes selected by the chef, which will be changed monthly allowing you to sample a variety of Masti’s signature dishes. The summer menu includes five courses.
Location: La Mer, Jumeirah
Cost: Dh150 per person
Timings: Daily from 12pm to 12am
