Day by day, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Expo 2020 Dubai. Soon, visitors will see giant baubles hanging from the domed Al Wasl Plaza, where larger-than-life nutcrackers are dutifully stationed. There’s even a magical tree lighting ceremony happening at the heart of it all – and you are invited.
Rising from Santa’s grotto, the main showpiece is a 20-metre-high Christmas tree. On December 18 at 6.15pm sharp, Santa Claus and Expo mascots, Rashid and Latifa, are going to come together to light up the festive tree.

Parents with children can flock to the scene for the ceremony and witness sustainable snowfall and dome projections. On the world’s largest 360-degree projection dome, two Christmas shows including one specially made for children will flit through images of a snowball fight, sleighs with reindeers, snowflakes and everything holiday right.
