Expo 2020 Dubai is all set to open its doors in three days and the Korean pavilion awaits your visit. Set in the mobility district, the pavilion is the fifth largest country pavilion at the global event's venue, occupying approximately 4,651 square metres. The theme of the pavilion is titled, 'Smart Korea, moving the world to you', and will focus on a number of events, exhibitions and discussion forums during the six-month event.

The facade of the pavilion features 1,597 spinning cubes with hues of red, yellow, white and blue, which will be well-lit during the nights. The design was brought to life Mooyuki Architects – a homegrown brand in Korea.

Stepping inside the pavilion, you will be welcomed by smiling faces greeting you at your first hello and last goodbye. The interior of the pavilion is similar to that of an Amphitheatre, where the stage is resident to three vertical cuboids which act as a screen for presentation and animation.

As you walk inside the pavilion, you will be equipped with a cell phone which will give you real-time updates during your visit to the pavilion. But, also make sure to stay within the lines, for these are part of the Pavilion's strict COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Clad with screens which run videos of South Korea's history and traditions, the pavilion is a story-teller to every visitor. With several 'guides' to help you out on your visit, the Korea Pavilion uses several new forms of mobility in line with the fourth industrial revolution by using state-of-the-art technology – like robots and virtual reality experiences, among other things – to connect Korea's past to the present and the future

But for those who like to get a little creative, the Korea Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai has set up several booths and kiosks for visitors to try their hand out at intricate ornament making.

The pavilion also features a ramp that takes you all the way to the top of the pavilion, where QR code stations – once scanned with the given mobile phone – will allow the visitor to view a glimpse into the future of flying cars, 3-dimensional scanners and more.

Once you reach the top, capture the beauty of the magnificent Al Wasl Plaza, which is also known as the 'Heart of Expo 2020'.

On your way back in, the Korean pavilion offers visitors a chance to sit back, lie on comfortable and soft beanbags, only to witness the magic of Korean heritage and nature in the form of a showreel or what they particularly like to call 'Vertical cinema'

Your visit won't be complete with out a little music and dance, so be prepared to witness the traditional Korean dance forms although they could surprise you with a few K-Pop songs in between.

Not to mention, the three vertical cuboids come to life during the dance performance. The pavilion will showcase 10 different shows each day for six months, and will also host a K-Pop concert at the venue, featuring notable and popular Korean boy band 'Stray Kids'.

Once your journey ends, deposit your tech companion at the 'device return' kiosks on your way out. These will then be thoroughly sterilized, marking it 'safe' for the next visitor.
