Dubai: Every week, Gulf News will give voice to stakeholders of Dubai to hear their thoughts on what makes Dubai special and why the emirate should host the 2020 World Expo.

This week, we speak to Arushi Madan, a student leader and achiever from Delhi, India. At 14, Madan says she is passionate about the UAE and calls it the “land of opportunities”.

“After living for more than a decade here, I am so proud to say that the UAE is a land of opportunities. This is a place which has something for everybody, a place which gives people hope, where leaders inspire you to turn your dreams into reality.

“I view Dubai as by far the safest place for women. My mother and I can walk around freely without fearing for our safety. I can go out on my own and I am safe.

“Another thing I like about Dubai is it does not encourage begging which clearly indicates its drive towards inculcating discipline and a sense of responsibility among its residents.

“Leaders here actively promote and support humanitarian causes. They also do not discriminate and enforce quality education for all. Come 2020, I will be in my final year of my medical studies here in the UAE. And I look forward to seeing Dubai host the 2020 Expo. I sincerely pray daily, hope and wish that the UAE wins Expo 2020 as there can not be any better contender.”
