Dubai: Kerala businessman Boby Chemmanur, who was arrested yesterday in connection with a sexual harassment complaint filed by Malayalam actor Honey Rose, will be presented in court today on January 9.

According to a report in Mathrubhumi, Chemmanur has also undergone a second medical examination as part of the legal proceedings.

Reports claim that Boby's case is being handled by advocate B Raman Pillai, whose clients include Malayalam actor Dileep in actress attack case and Bishop Franco Mulakkal in the nun rape case.

Last night, Boby told the local media while he was being taken into custody that he meant no harm.

He was taken into custody rom his estate in Wayanad, Kerala, following Honey Rose's sexual harassment complaint claiming he made obscene gestures and suggestive remarks towards her at a public function. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been assigned to conduct a thorough investigation into the case.

The actress also accused him of online harassment. Chemmanur, known for his eccentric public persona, has categorically denied the allegations, claiming he had no “ill intentions.”

A few days ago, Honey Rose took to social media to share details of the alleged incident, which took place in August last year. She explained that she had been invited to inaugurate his jewelry showroom in Kannur, a professional engagement that later turned unpleasant.

"This incident occurred four months ago and deeply disturbed my family," Rose said after filing her complaint. She further alleged that Chemmanur exhibited indecent behavior toward her.

“You place your faith in your wealth, while I place mine in the strength of India’s legal system,” she declared in her social media post.
