Not pregnant
Marian Rivera quickly denied rumours circulating that she is pregnant. Rivera said she will be happy to announce her pregnancy herself, if it were true. At the recent Yahoo OMG Awards, where she won Celebrity of the Year honours, the actress came in a sexy, tight-fitting dress as if to emphasise her whistle-bait figure could hardly be mistaken as being expecting.
The actress also assured her fans she will only get pregnant after she gets married; she was quick to add she and boyfriend Dingdong Dantes have no plans of tying the knot anytime soon, dousing yet another burning rumour that the celebrity couple are planning to get married in December this year.
Indie buzz
Superstar Nora Aunor’s fans will be excited to know she has a couple of indie films lined up for the rest of the year. Her first, Thy Womb, gave her international acting honours. She recently finished another indie project entitled Ang Kuwento Ni Mabuti (The Story of Good).
Director Adolfo Alix Jr confirmed that the award-winning actress will star in La Mamadre, where she will star in a dual role – both lead and villainess. She will also start filming another indie movie to be directed by award-winning director Joel Lamangan later this year, which will be, if reports are to be believed, bigger than her iconic film, Himala, which was declared Best Asia-Pacific Film of all Time at the CNN Asia Pacific Screen Awards in 2008.
Upclose and personal
Cristine Reyes has been spotted several times with a handsome hunk who people close to the actress say is her personal trainer. They wouldn’t confirm, though, whether Reyes is dating the guy, even if rumours have been swirling that the actress has fallen for him. The only problem is, the guy is apparently married with kids. This is supposedly the reason why Reyes is again not on speaking terms with big sister, actress Ara Mina, with whom she had a bitter spat last year. Repeated contacts with Reyes’ publicist asking for comment have not been returned.
Expectant mother
Congratulations to singer-actress Jolina Magdangal, who has announced she is two months pregnant. Magdangal made the press announcement with husband Mark Escueta, a member of popular band Rivermaya, after a quick trip to her OB Gynae at the Asian Hospital in Manila. She has taken a leave of absence from her showbiz commitments and is unsure whether she will return immediately after giving birth. She said her priority is to take care of her baby.
