It's official: Bollywood stars Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif are married!

WEDDING VEILED IN SECRECY: Meet Bollywood’s latest bride and groom Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal.The couple has officially married, Indian media reported on Thursday, quoting sources at the wedding.The couple took to Instagram and shared their first pictures from their wedding ceremony. "Only love and gratitude in our hearts for everything that brought us to this moment. Seeking all your love and blessings as we begin this new journey together," Vicky Kaushal wrote. Katrina also shared a series of pictures on her Instagram account with the same caption.

The snaps beautifully capture the different cultures and religions coming together for the union of the star couple in a traditional Hindu ceremony. In the pictures, Katrina can be seen wearing a gorgeous red Sabyasachi lehenga whose border was adorned with broad golden gota. She chose a royal Rajputana style jewellery inclusive of an elegant Rani Haar, mattha patti, huge nath, heavy earrings, royal bangles, rings and Punjabi style kalira. She tied her hair in a bun adorned by traditional floral gajra.

Her prince charming, Vicky also looked dapper in a gold Achkan, a sherwani, a traditional turban adorned with heavy kalgi, and a pearl-green necklace. While the first picture is captured from the garland ceremony, the second shows the couple taking 'pheras'. The third and fourth candid pictures see the duo embracing each other.

As per close sources, the couple took 'seven pheras' on Thursday afternoon in the presence of their families and friends. Their pre-wedding festivities had kick-started on December 7 with 'Mehendi' followed by big fat Punjabi Sangeet Night on December 8. The couple will reportedly host a reception in Mumbai for their Bollywood friends.

The ceremony had a veil of secrecy. Only a few friends and family were in attendance. Kabir Khan, Angad Bedi, Mini Mathur, Neha Dhupia, Gurdas Maan, Sharvari Wagh, and Vijay Krishna Acharya among many others from the film industry were a part of Vicky and Katrina's wedding festivities.

ELEGANT AFFAIR: But that doesn’t mean they are keeping the celebrations simple – there’s apparently a glass dome and puppet shows and dances planned. The wedding is being held at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan — perfect for grand happenings. This is what you need to know about their nuptials.

VENUE: The fort-turned-hotel Six Senses Fort Barwara was converted into a fortress once, again, for the wedding. There were curtains on its grand arches to blunt the view of any prying cameras. The "pheras" — a Hindu ritual – took place amid tight security.

SEHRA BANDI RITUAL: Prior to the wedding, Indian media reported that 33-year-old Kaushal’s Sehra Bandi ritual began in the early afternoon. This tradition sees a groom’s sister or to-be sister-in-law putting the "sehra" or turban onto the groom’s head. Once this is done, the bridal procession will make its way to the mandap, or wedding stage. Those in the inner circle — Sunny Kaushal, Vicky's brother, Kabir Khan, Kaif’s ‘Ek The Tiger director’, and Angad Bedi – were all in matching turbans.

ELEGANT AFFAIR: The affair was decidedly elegant — there were apparently a glass dome and puppet shows and dances planned. The wedding was held at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan — perfect for grand happenings. Earlier, leaked photos of the guests in the hotel's corridors made their way to the internet after the "Haldi" ceremony of the high-profile wedding. But other than these few pictures, the event remains untouched by media.

GRAND ENTRANCE: Indian media reported that the bride would make a grand entrance at the mandap in a doli (bride’s carriage). Katrina Kaif’s carriage was reportedly a traditional pink hued doli with mirror work.

STAR GUESTS: Among the guests, we believe, is star Alia Bhatt – she was spotted en route to Jaipur. However, whether she’ll be at the reception, post the wedding, remains unverified.

BESTIES: Besides besties Bhatt and Sara Ali Khan, sources suggest Arjun Kapoor is also attending the wedding.

WHERE ARE THE WEDDING PHOTOS, VIDEOS? It seems like Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal's fans have to wait a little longer to see the dreamy wedding pictures of their favourite stars. Recent rumours state that the couple has agreed to sell exclusive pictures of their dreamy wedding to the Hindi edition of an international magazine and that, too, for a whopping amount. Earlier, a report made headlines all over media portals that the couple has sold their wedding telecast rights to an OTT platform for reported whopping amount of INR 80 crore ($15 million). This means fans will be able to see the whole wedding visuals like a show on the OTT platform.

VICKY AND KATRINA'S NEW BRAND: After their wedding, it’s likely that all eyes will be on their new bond on social media. Whether it’s romantic posts or collaborations and brand deals, it wouldn’t surprising if the star couple use their new brand together to great monetary advantage.

WELL-PLANNED: There are many kids in attendance and to keep them entertained, the thoughtful couple has arranged entertainment galore – from a puppetry section to cool activities are all on hand.

CAKES: We wish we could try the delicious-looking wedding cakes, which reportedly cost Rs300,000-Rs400,000. The first, a caramel and chocolate treat, is a three-tier creation; the five-tier dessert meanwhile is a white wedding cake with intricate decoration.

OFFERINGS: Because it’s a busy time, the couple, won’t be visiting the Trinetra Ganesh Temple in Ranthambore before their wedding but instead will be making offerings from afar.

CEREMONIES: Kaushal and Kaif started off with a grand "Sangeet" and "Haldi" ceremony. For "Sangeet", held on Wednesday, Katrina donned a pink lehenga while Vicky complimented his bride by choosing a sherwani embellished with roses. Katrina's lehenga is said to be designed by Falguni and Shane Peacock. The "Sangeet" night was also marked by electrifying performances on Punjabi tracks. Kaushal's love for Punjabi beats is well-known and the "Sangeet" featured some of the best tracks.

WATER-TIGHT SECURITY: The high-profile wedding has been the talk of the town for the past month owing to its water-tight security and everyone being tightlipped about the wedding. It was planned by the high-profile wedding planners Shaadi Squad. They were the brains behind Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's wedding in Tuscany, executed Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas' engagement, planned the Varun Dhawan-Natasha Dalal wedding and recently, handled the Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa's big day. The organisers at the venue have reportedly deployed internet jammers to stop the guests and staff in the hotel from uploading any content related to the wedding on social media. So far, it’s worked – there are no pictures online yet.

SWEETS: The wedding guests will be savouring Rajasthani and Gujarati delicacies prepared by a local sweet shop. Janta Jodhpur Sweet Home, a shop located in Sawai Madhopur, sent 10 varieties of sweets to the Six Senses Hotel where the star couple will tie the knot. Arjun Upadhyay from the Janta Jodhpur Sweet Home told IANS, “The guests are delighted with the taste of Jodhpur’s famous dish ‘Mawa Kachori’ and Bikaner’s ‘Gond Pak’. Gujarati ‘Dhokla’ has also been served in the breakfast. ‘Samosa’, ‘Kachori’ and ‘Dhokla’ were been sent to the hotel for the Haldi ceremony.”

10-KG SWEETS: Ten varieties of sweets weighing around 80kg were sent to the wedding venue, including ‘Moong Daal Barfi’, ‘Gujarati Bakhlaya’, ‘Kaju Pan’ and ‘Choco Byte’, among others. On Thursday, 100 pieces each of Samosa and Dhokla shall be sent to the venue, apart from sweets.
