Sharjah: The 13th edition of the Sharjah Narrative Forum will begin on Sunday under the theme ‘Arabic novel in the diaspora’.

Organised by Sharjah’s Department of Culture and Information, the three-day event will see the participation of some Arab authors and critics, with focus on four main subjects, namely, the art transformations/speech changes, the limits of art/intertextuality, the collective memory in the diaspora novel, and the Arabic novel in the landscape.

Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Owais, chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information, said that the department has invited a group of Arab authors and critics who live in the diaspora and others from the UAE and Arab countries.

The move comes in line with the directives of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote relations between Arab authors and their countries and benefit from their culture and experience in the field of narration, Al Owais added.
