The all-new glow garden is here for the third season with a spectacular ice attraction

Sculptures carved in ice create an enchanting experience for children and adults alike at Dubai Garden Glow’s latest new attraction, the Ice Park. From the winged chariot and fire-breathing dragon to dinosaurs and polar bears and Dubai’s modern architectural wonders, the park is as much a tribute to the mythological world as it is to the passage of time.

About 150 artists from around the globe carved 25 sculptures – including the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa, and the magnificent Shaikh Zayed Mosque – out of 5,000 tonnes of ice.

Set at a temperature of -8 degrees Celsius, the park also features a play area for children of the desert to better acquaint with ice.

This is just one of the main attractions on offer for the third season of Dubai Garden Glow, which is now aglow with new installations.

Deep-sea wonders

Explore marine plants and animals at the Water Set and the Sea World. With a blue whale and her calf taking pride of place this year, the Water Set presents an aquatic ecosystem that is in harmony with mankind. Be prepared to handle the barrage of queries about sea horses and jelly fish heading your way from the little ones.

Riot of colours

Art by day, the Colourful World brings breathtaking illumination to life by night. Home to a host of artistic concepts, it’s designed to intrigue and excite you.

Raising the happiness quotient

Taking a cue from the emirate’s emphasis on happiness, Dubai Garden Glow has come up with its own Happiness Street. Let your imagination run wild aided by the animal characters that line the sides and seem to have jumped out of children’s books. Or get ready for a rush of happy childhood memories as you saunter past the circus tent.

I love My Dubai

A homage to the spirit of the city and its leadership, the glow park’s My Dubai features the famous hand sign of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It also traces the emirate’s growth into an oil powerhouse and a global business destination, rooted in its heritage and traditions.

Roar with the dinosaurs

With more than 100 animatronic dinosaurs roaming the wild, the Dinosaur Park is the best place to get to know more about these prehistoric creatures. Take a ride on the dinosaurs if you are up to it or just feed them. Pop into the Dinosaur Museum and Dinosaur Lab to learn more about how they lived and how they became extinct.

Tickets to Dubai Garden Glow cost Dh60 per head. Children under three go free. Entry fee to the Ice Park is Dh40. For more details, visit http://www.dubaigardenglow.com/
