It's couture vs cinematic clout as fashion heavyweight Elie Saab takes on Brad Pitt in the battle of the Dubai hotels.

The Lebanese designer - who is beloved by stars and royalty for his delicate, richly decorated and body conscious dresses - will design a boutique hotel bearing his name at the Tiger Woods Dubai complex in Dubailand.

"The interiors will be a reflection of my personal lifestyle," said Saab.

"Every detail of the hotel's interiors will reflect my signature element that is defined by a fusion of simplicity, luxury and modernism to create a dreamlike ambience.

"This project is especially close to my heart and will draw the best of my creative sensibilities."

The Dh600 million hotel will include 89 suites and 14 bungalows and a 10,000 sq. ft. swimming pool.

While Saab will dedicate himself to the hotel's interior, Pitt recently announced that he would be heavily involved in the design of a Dubai hotel - from the ground up.

Despite having no training in architecture, Pitt says he got involved with LA design group GRAFT because of his lifelong love of architecture and design.

Saab is not the first designer to bring his aesthetic to hotel interiors. Versace, Giorgio Armani, Christian Lacroix and Bvlgari have all outfitted hotels in their signature styles.
