Kia reveals fourth-generation Sorento SUV

New iteration gets more power, off-road prowess, tech features and a design refresh

Kia claims the new model gets better off-road capability than before. The new X-Line trim features an inch higher ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, more advanced AWD system with snow-mode and a more robust roof rack than the outgoing Sorento.

The new 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo engine is good for 281 horsepower and 311-lb-ft of torque, and is mated to an eight-speed DCT.

The cabin sees improved legroom and cargo room than the previous model, and comes with optional second-row captain’s chairs, allowing buyers to select either a 4+2 or a 5+2 configuration.

The Advanced Driving Assistance Systems are now standard in the new Sorento, and include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Occupant Alert.
