Customers had been asking for an “agile and corner-hungry car” and so Bugatti went to work on building a model which would be “very different from the Chiron” and of course even more exclusive. Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann says they “instantly understood the sporty approach of the Divo” and supported the project.

A prototype was built and taken to various testing grounds including the Nürburgring where it traveled more than 5,000km while being tested at speeds up to 380kph. The prototype’s chassis was also fine-tuned but the engineers did not stop there.
