The Pentagon briefing that described Saudi Arabia as an adversary of the United States and a backer of terrorism has received extensive international coverage.

The Arabs may need to learn what democracy is all about but the Israeli need to learn some basic lessons in humanity is far greater. They could be taught the meaning of "Peace through Withdrawal." They might also have a class or two on "Rage Control," "How to Treat Children" and "How to Deal with Those who Clamour for the God-given Human Rights of Self-Determination and Self-Government"!

Just a few years ago, I read something very interesting in an American publication. According to the article, the CIA has a profile on every world leader. I have no doubt that this is so since after all, that is why the American taxpayers fund the agency and what its function is.

There was a recent news report in Al Eqtisadiah Arabic daily regarding the caning of 20 youths in Madinah for teasing and harassing girls. The Governor of Madinah Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz previously advised the formation of a committee to investigate this unacceptable behaviour and put deterrents in place to stop these acts which are contrary to our Islamic ideals and values.

The blessed month of Ramadan is almost over; across the world, the Eid will be a time for happiness. For other faiths too, this will soon be a time for festivities.
