A camel was struck and killed by a four-wheel-drive vehicle, while crossing Al Ghurair University road in Dubai several days ago. The camel seemed to have rolled over the roof of the car, landing on the road, and dying instantly. The car was blood spattered with a broken windshield as well.
To prevent such accidents from occurring in the future, the authorities should place more wire fences to ensure the camels are not crossing any streets where cars may be travelling. Camel crossing signs should be placed in this area too.
To protect the camels, wire fences should be placed in the areas that are more commonly inhabited with camels. The camel herder must be aware of their activities at all times as well.
These changes would help keep drivers safe. Drivers should also need to make sure they are more aware because while driving through Al Ghurair University road the past couple years, I’ve seen countless camels crossing.
