This is the view from my balcony. I paid a premium for it three years ago, only to see it turned into a trailer park today.

International City is a residential colony, where the residents have to open their windows to hundreds of trucks parked in front of the building. It is a visual nuisance, not to mention that the number of trucks is increasing every day.

The drivers work early in the morning, around 4am, so the diesel engines are left running for 15 to 20 minutes disturbing the residents’ sleep and causing noise pollution.

They are also parked there, loaded with goods like urea, pharmaceuticals and odour-producing products, which are affecting our children’s breathing. And although International City has no municipal parks or jogging tracks, the open area in the center is often used for jogging and walking by seniors residents, women and children.

These activities have nearly stopped, as the anti-social behaviour of the drivers and the dark areas the crowded trucks create after sunset has completely eliminated a potential social corridor in the making.

The concerned authorities have not taken any action, even after repeated complaints from the residents.

Through this report I hope to bring this issue to the right people so that some action can be taken and this ordeal can come to an end as soon as possible.
