Parking trouble Due to the motorcycles parked in between the cars, the drivers are unable to park or reverse their cars.

Abu Dhabi

I am a resident of the Madinat Zayed area in Abu Dhabi. In the past few months, the number of motorcycles occupying the parking slots in this residential area has been increasing alarmingly.

The residents pay Dh800 every year to park their cars comfortably, but often find dents or scratches on the vehicles. Additionally, due to the motorcycles parked in between the cars (as seen in photograph), the drivers are unable to park or reverse their cars. My vehicle could not pass the renewal test due to these dents and I had to pay a steep amount to get them fixed.

Also, I frequently find people leaning on or sitting on the cars, thereby damaging the number plates or other parts of the vehicles. Sometimes the people who buy tea or coffee from the nearby cafeterias spill it recklessly on the cars, thereby creating stains, which they don’t clean up themselves.

I request the concerned authorities to look into this matter. There can be a separate area allocated for the parking of motorcycles alone. As for the people who show such inconsiderate behaviour towards other people’s vehicles, there could be frequent supervision or a penalty so they do not repeat the same act.
