A few days ago, I happened to visit my uncle’s house in the Al Baraha area, Dubai and was shocked to see this scene (as seen in photograph). It is clear that the person is inviting trouble for himself as well as for other residents of his building.
It is clearly visible that a cylinder and a gas stove are placed in the balcony. The whole time I was there, the man was cooking, thereby unaware of putting his life and the entire building and surroundings in danger. Secondly, when a balcony is available to accommodate the stand to dry one’s laundry, the stand was kept dangerously hanging outside the balcony. It could come lose and fall and injure someone who was walking or passing by the building at that moment.
I fail to understand how one could be so irresponsible. How can this man be so careless?
When I happened across this sight, I was completely shocked and wanted to raise my voice and felt it was important to raise concern over this issue through Gulf News.
When a student like me can understand how grave the situation is then why can other people such as these, especially adults, not understand at all? I wish that safety was taken more seriously by everyone and mattered to each one of us and we all start living our lives the way it is really meant to be lived.
