The authorities in Abu Dhabi have installed many speed cameras in the emirate. However, dangerous driving habits still remain a threat to road users and pedestrians.

In the morning between 7am and 8am the traffic flow before Al Maqta and Musaffah bridges heading towards Abu Dhabi is very slow.

This is the root cause of motorists taking a risk by driving on the hard shoulder which is designated for emergency and official vehicles.

Many drivers have practised this unsafe driving habit over the past two to three months. Also, a minimum of two to three traffic patrol vehicles monitor the movement of traffic in this area most of the time. I decided to bring this to the attention of the media so as to alert all road users.
