I use the Mohammad Bin Zayed Road to commute to and from work every day. There is a lot of traffic at both times, and I can understand that motorists are getting frustrated. However, that doesn’t mean they can break the law.

During my drive, especially in the evenings, I see a lot of motorists who neglect the rules and use the emergency lane to drive past the long queues of vehicles. This lane is strictly for emergency vehicles to pass through the slow moving traffic in case of an actual emergency.

By using these lanes, these motorists are surely reaching their destination faster than those who are following the rules and driving patiently. But, they are ignoring the importance of the emergency lane and also the safety of the other motorists around. Additionally, if caught by the authorities, they will be fined but it doesn’t seem like they are bothered about it.

I hope that through this report I can raise this issue to the attention of the authorities and hope that they will take strict action against such people.
