In all the emirates, there are several neat, beautiful and well-maintained public parks and gardens, with provisions for games, exercise, tracks for walking or running and children's play areas.

During weekends, the parks are almost full or overcrowded with children who are accompanied by their parents. Many families occupy their favourite areas and have a picnic.

However, many students also prefer reading or studying in these gardens, as opposed to the confined space of their rooms or homes.

Several school and university students are seen seriously studying in certain calm and quiet places in public parks.

This is very common during the time of examinations. But the lighting and seating arrangements of these places have not been designed for learning or reading. The planners and designers of these parks might not have thought of such a use.

As a result, students are spoiling their eyesight by poring over books in the dim light — that too without proper seating facilities.

It is highly desirable to set apart areas with proper lighting and seating facilities for students.

A facility could also be provided for these students to use their laptops.

Once these are provided, a large number of students would use such study areas. It would help facilitate their studies and help them secure good results in examinations.
