I have been a customer of etisalat since 1994, starting with my landline and I have had a mobile phone with them since 1998. I have complied with their requirement that the mobile phone number to be registered and renewed every time we renewed our visa. Now I am getting short messages and voice messages in my cell phone frequently that say: “My document ID submitted with etisalat has expired, please submit the new documents with any of the etisalat branches”.

I submitted my renewed documents in July, 2015. I have cross checked and confirmed with one of their branches that everything is in order and that my documents are up-to-date after I got the first message in November, 2015. Now it has almost been a month and I have spoken to a dozen officials raising the complaint.

They are opening and closing the complaint without resolving the issue till now. Today also I spoke to one etisalat official and the answer is same that they are still working on it. I am not sure when this saga will end. This is the treatment of a customer who has paid all his bills on time and that also keeps extra credit in the account. My patience is out of stock. These voice messages are eating my brain when I try to make emergency calls and it’s making me very stressed out.

From Mr Abraham Kuruvilla Puthenkaduppil

The management of etisalat responds:

Kindly note that the customer’s issue was solved.

Mr Puthenkaduppil responds:

Yes, this was finally resolved after months of trauma. I thank you, Gulf News, very much for your action on this.
