I am writing to Gulf News with the hope that the newspaper can help resolve my issue.

Recently, I witched my etisalat prepaid number to postpaid, from a temporary etisalat counter in Deira, Dubai.

I was convinced by the offer of Dh100 for 5.5GB data with 400 local minutes. I was happy with it, so I converted my number to postpaid. While signing for the device, the representative didn’t mention anything about a Dh150 contract plan.

Once my bills generated in the next month, I came to know that I had subscribed to a Dh150 plan for two years.

I raised many complaints for the same, but etisalat is not agreeing to anything, because I had signed for the Dh150 contract.

I still remember the confirmation call after my account was converted to postpaid. The representative asked me whether I had signed up for this device, and I said yes, because the plan mentioned in the confirmation call was also for Dh100.

They representative changed my plan to Dh150 without my knowledge and made me sign on for it.

Please take the necessary action regarding the same.

From Mr Jaul Pellissery

Dubai

The management of etisalat responds:

Thank you for bringing Mr Pellissery’s concerns to our attention. Etisalat customer service team has checked his application details, which confirm that he has applied for the Dh150 package for a period of two years. As all applications are electronic now, services cannot be changed when they are being processed by any individual other than the customer.

Mr Pellissery responds:

I am forced to continue with my current etisalat services, which I didn’t agree to in the first place. Thank you Gulf News, for raising my issue.
