This is regarding the credit card Payment issue towards my FGB credit card. I received a message on my mobile number, telling me that my FGB credit card payment was overdue. I have never, ever used my card for any purchase. When I contacted their customer care number, they told me it was an annual charge of Dh500.

The sales executive who convinced me to subscribe for this card had told me it was a free-for-life one, and there would be no additional charges and annual charges. Now, they turn up with annual charges of Dh500, which is ridiculous, as I never used the card even once during this period.

I have registered a complaint with FGB customer care. The representative told me that their inspection team would call me in five working days to verify my complaint and whether the amount could be reversed. Later, I told him I would like to cancel my account with FGB, since I had a bad experience.

A customer care representative advised me to pay Dh100 as minimum charge, to avoid late fees. He said once the investigation team reverses the annual charge, my minimum charge would be reversed to my account. On the same day, I paid a minimum charge of Dh100 in the Corniche branch ATM machine.

Now, I am waiting for the investigation team’s call. It has been four days and I have not received any feedback from FGB. It is a really bad experience when your hard earned salary is drained for no reason.

Gulf News, please help me resolve this issue.
