Data package problem

After much debate, I have decided to write to Gulf News for help as I wasn’t getting any from etisalat.

I own a Q10 and have subscribed to the etisalat Blackberry service, which they provide for Dh185 a month.

A few months ago, I noticed that a week after renewing the subscription, I could not stream online videos. None of the social media apps function correctly either. Most of the time, it just says ‘unable to load’ or ‘retry’.

The service I use is an unlimited service, yet the package finishes within one week.

Upon calling etisalat’s customer service centre, I was told:

- Even though it says unlimited package, it’s limited to 4GB.

- I should stop streaming online.

- I should resubscribe and pay Dh185, again, after a week, to have better service.

- There is no other service that can solve this problem.

- Blackberry services are better priced, whereas if I was to look at an Android or iPhone package, they’re set at around Dh900.

The agent insisted that this information was clarified on the etisalat website and that it I would only receive proper service up to 4GB.

I have been using the exact same service for years now and have never faced this problem, yet the agent insisted that this is how it has been always.

Would greatly appreciate any help on this.
