I hold a Najm Gold credit card and had enrolled for a Ramadan promotion to spend and win a mall gift card. As per the criteria, I spent Dh17,000 and accordingly, I should have gotten a Dh500 mall gift voucher on July 7, 2017.

Recently, the call centre replied that if I had not received any email, then I am not from amongst the first 1,000 winners to get the award, and the system decides the first 1,000 winners. I don’t understand the mechanism. I got the message to enroll and I replied immediately and got their confirmation with reference 812 (which is below 1,000). I spent approximately Dh17,000 by the middle of the month, whereas the promotion period was up to the end of the month.

If the criteria was related to the first 1,000 winners, they would have enrolled and replied to the first 1,000 only. I kindly request Gulf News to intervene in this matter.

The management of Majid Al Futtaim LLC responds:

We would like to confirm that the customer has been contacted and the case is resolved.

It was a misinterpretation regarding what the reference number of the promotion stands for, which we explained, and our customer is satisfied.

We would like also to share with you that our customer has been with us for more than three years and since we value him as a member with Najm, we were pleased to offer him an e-gift voucher, which was already shared with him on July 25.

Mr Bhatia responds:

Thank you Gulf News for the efforts taken and for solving my problem with the Najm team. I received a call from the marketing team of Najm and they have resolved my issue favourably. Thanks for intervening.
