This is regarding my credit card with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB). I received a statement for the month of the July 2016, which highlighted a transaction of Dh2,256.17 dated June 29, 2016. The amount was mentioned as, “Instalment capital — 4/6”. I called the bank several times to confirm this information, but was not satisfied with their answer. They did not take my request for a reversal of the amount, either.

Kindly help me understand the transaction details from the bank or get a reversal of the transaction.

From Mr Ateeque Ahmad

The management of ADIB responds:

Mr Ateeque Ahmad has been contacted and we have clarified the transaction details to the customer and the issue had been immediately sorted.

Due to a system issue post migration from Barclays, certain instalments for a minor number of cases were not getting billed. We have shared the old statements with the customer for his review and the matter was resolved.

Mr Ahmad responds:

Thank you very much, Gulf News, for the support. It really feels good when somebody takes an interest in the issue and resolves it. I was contacted by the bank last week and they have clarified that the transaction was missed in the migration process around two years ago, and now, they have found that it is reflecting in the statement. They have provided me with the old statement. Thanks very much, once again.
