I cancelled my credit card with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) on February 28, after settling all outstanding balances at their Al Barsha Mall branch. A few days later, I received a call from a gentleman from ADIB, saying I had an outstanding of Dh55.

I was upset, and informed him that this was incorrect as I had returned the card after settling all dues. At this stage, he said he would handle the matter with his management.

Surprisingly, on March 18, I received a text message from ADIB, informing me that Dh55.38 was outstanding.

I have already paid the outstanding balance and have returned my card. Thus, there cannot be any new charges. I request Gulf News to please help me with this issue.

The management of ADIB responds:

Please note with regards to the customer’s complaint, the reversal was completed on March 19, with no delay. We have gotten in touch with the customer to inform him.

Mr Budhiraja responds:

Thank you, Gulf News. The bank contacted me and advised that the charges would be reversed.
