Costly data plan

On September 4, 2015, I ordered an iPhone 6S Plus from etisalat. I received a call after a few days from etisalat, asking me to select a new number to which the plan of the device would be applied, as the number I had chosen was allocated to two different customers at the same time.

I informed him that I purchased the plan on the new number I selected and it was confirmed to me by the page displayed before purchase, summarising the order. The fact that it’s no longer available is the evidence. In addition, the Dh1,000 I paid was credited to my existing number. The agent said he would send the case to the concerned department and would get back to me soon. Since then, nothing has happened.

I sent numerous emails to etisalat and approached them through their online chat. I always get the same answer: “Your problem will be solved within three working days.” It’s been around five months now and there is still no solution, Every month, I have to pay extra to get internet data on my phone.

I bought an iPhone from etisalat thinking that I would get monthly data as well as a device, but now it is costing me more. As of now, I am paying for internet, and then, when the problem gets solved, I again have to start paying the monthly instalments. Would Gulf News please convey my case to those concerned?
